Public Safety – Stan has led efforts to educate the public and advocated for policies to improve public safety across the city as the former President of the Public Safety Action Coalition. 

• Housing Solutions – Stan is the co-founding Chair of HomeShare Oregon, a best practice nonprofit helping prevent homelessness before it starts and has worked to find solutions to more compassionate and humane interventions to those living on our streets as a Founding Board Member of the Northwest Community Conservancy. 

• Champion of Neighborhood Livability – Stan is an active volunteer in his neighborhood and led the Pearl District Neighborhood Association for seven years. It is not uncommon to see Stan out with clean teams removing trash, cleaning up graffiti and rolling up his sleeves to help his neighbors.

• Leader in  the Arts –Stan has helped found arts organizations, advocated for arts funding, served on and chaired some of our communities most beloved arts nonprofits and continues to see arts as a cornerstone to moving Portland forward.

• Environmental Action – a walker and bike rider, Stan cares deeply about our climate and spent 7 years successfully working on an ordinance to eliminate toxic gas leaf blowers and transition to electric.
